Located in the heart of horse country, FBT Gibbons’ Lexington office is located in the former Festival Market building that has been renovated into a state-of-the-art office and community space. The office opened in 1982. It now serves as home base to more than 40 attorneys.

Our Lexington team’s experience and subject knowledge extend the full range of practice areas; however, we boast nationally leading practices in the insurance regulatory, energy innovation and industrial hemp industries. We also have notable depth in toxic tort and product liability litigation as well as a growing state and DC-based government relations presence.

Our Lexington office features an entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative culture. We work together seamlessly across practice areas to meet the needs of a diverse client base, ranging from coal mining and utilities companies to manufacturers and agribusinesses in the industrial hemp space.

The office is led by Partner-in-Charge Jan de Beer who, in addition to overseeing our business development and community outreach activities in the Lexington market, advises clients on international trade regulations and cross-border transactions.

Community

While we work hard, much emphasis is given to both intra-office social activities and civic engagement initiatives. In addition to supporting the community through volunteer work and office-led donation drives, our attorneys serve on boards of the city’s most impactful nonprofits, including Commerce Lexington, Bluegrass Tomorrow, the Downtown Development Corporation, the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Bluegrass.
