FBT Gibbons continues to expand its Labor & Employment practice group with the addition of Jeffrey A. Wortman as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Wortman has spent nearly three decades helping employers navigate the full spectrum of workplace issues, from day-to-day counseling and workforce strategy to traditional labor matters and complex employment litigation, further advancing the firm’s strategic growth in California.
Prior to joining FBT Gibbons, Wortman led the Labor & Employment practice at Seyfarth Shaw’s Downtown Los Angeles office. He advises employers across the full spectrum of labor and employment matters, including workplace counseling, labor relations, collective bargaining, union organizing campaigns, workforce management and employment litigation, helping clients navigate both day-to-day workplace issues and high-stakes disputes. His practice includes discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims. He regularly works with both in-state and national employers to navigate California’s highly regulated legal landscape, helping them understand and comply with overlapping statutory and regulatory obligations.

In addition to his client work, Wortman is active in several professional organizations. He is Board President of the Western Justice Center, a member of the State Bar of California’s Labor and Employment Law Section and the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
