FBT Gibbons attorney Tanya Pahwa has been recognized by the American Bar Association with its 2026 On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers Award. The award recognizes young lawyers who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and service to the profession and their communities.
Pahwa, a member of the firm’s New York office, advises on complex mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and general corporate matters. With more than a decade of experience, she has led domestic and multijurisdictional transactions ranging from middle-market to large-scale matters across the technology, energy, financial services, and other major sectors.
Her experience includes high-value transactions involving energy and digital infrastructure assets, including data centers and power platforms. Pahwa also regularly represents global private equity and venture capital investors across the investment lifecycle, including buyouts, growth investments and exits, and counsels multinational corporations and financial institutions on complex strategic transactions.
Pahwa’s work has been recognized by several leading legal and business publications. She has led multiple transactions named Deal of the Year by India Business Law Journal and was part of a team recognized by the Financial Times for innovation in finance law. Dual-qualified in New York and India, she holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
In addition to her legal practice, Pahwa is active in the ABA and serves as a contributing editor to Business Law Today, an ABA Business Law Section publication. She is a managing editor on the ABA Young Lawyers Division Editorial and Content Board and will become managing editor of the board in August.
Award recipients will be recognized Saturday, Aug. 1, during the Young Lawyers Division Networking Breakfast, part of the 2026 ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago.
