  • FBT Gibbons Adds National Trial Counsel Daniel “Casey” Jones to Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation Team

FBT Gibbons continues to expand its national Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation practice with the addition of Daniel “Casey” Jones as a partner in the firm’s Cincinnati office. Jones adds significant trial experience in toxic tort, occupational exposure, transportation, and complex litigation matters, further strengthening the firm’s ability to defend clients facing high-exposure claims across multiple jurisdictions.

Jones joins FBT Gibbons from Blank Rome and has spent more than two decades litigating complex matters involving asbestos, toxic tort, transportation, and product liability claims across state and federal courts nationwide. His practice focuses heavily on defending industrial, transportation, and manufacturing clients in litigation involving catastrophic injury allegations, occupational exposure claims, and coordinated national defense matters.

“Casey is a natural fit for the direction of our Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation practice,” said Jeremiah A. Byrne, co-leader of FBT Gibbons’ Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation practice. “He brings experience handling the types of complex, high-exposure matters our clients increasingly face, and his addition reflects our continued investment in building a deeper national bench and expanding our ability to support clients in sophisticated product liability, toxic tort, transportation, and occupational exposure litigation.”

Jones currently serves as national trial counsel in occupational exposure and repetitive stress litigation brought under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), regularly serving as first chair trial counsel in matters filed throughout the United States. He also has substantial experience managing nationwide asbestos litigation involving a broad range of products and premises claims.

In addition to his national counsel roles, Jones has substantial experience defending transportation and industrial clients in asbestos, Jones Act, toxic tort, and other occupational exposure litigation involving claims for significant compensatory and punitive damages. He has defended matters in more than 20 states and federal courts and regularly coordinates litigation strategy across multiple jurisdictions.

“Clients facing long-tail liability increasingly need counsel who can manage matters consistently across jurisdictions while also being prepared to try cases when necessary,” said Kim M. Catullo, co-leader of FBT Gibbons’ Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation practice. “That is the type of work Casey has spent years handling. His experience strengthens our ability to help clients navigate litigation that may span multiple courts, multiple years, and significant exposure.”

“A significant part of my practice involves matters that span multiple jurisdictions and require coordination between trial teams, local counsel, and clients across the country,” Jones said. “FBT Gibbons has the geographic footprint and trial bench to support that work in a disciplined, efficient way.”

FBT Gibbons’ Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation team represents companies nationwide in high-exposure product liability, toxic tort, occupational exposure, transportation, and catastrophic injury matters. The group has tried more than 500 jury cases to verdict and regularly defends clients in coordinated, multidistrict, and complex litigation across jurisdictions throughout the United States.
