Biography

Zachary is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Finance Practice Group, where he represents banks, private credit funds, and other institutional lenders in a broad range of commercial and real estate financing transactions. He regularly advises clients on the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of secured credit facilities, including commercial and industrial (C&I) loans, asset-based lending (ABL) facilities, construction loans, and multifamily and other commercial real estate loans, including acquisition and refinancing transactions. Zachary also has experience with interest rate swaps and related hedging arrangements, and he counsels lenders across the full life cycle of a transaction, from term sheet and commitment through closing. His experience also extends to tax credit finance, including transactions involving low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC).

In addition, Zachary has experience in general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, securities registration, business formation, and drafting and negotiating purchase agreements. Before joining the firm, he gained valuable experience as a legal extern for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, where he focused on bank regulation and monetary policy.

Zachary earned his Juris Doctor with a specialization in Business Law from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, he served as a student director for the Business Law Clinic and was a member of the Environmental Law Moot Court.

Outside of work, Zachary is passionate about martial arts, regularly training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Boxing, and Muay Thai. He is also a car enthusiast who enjoys discussing all things automotive.
