Matthew focuses his practice on complex commercial real estate and real estate finance transactions. He represents financial institutions, real estate developers, and corporate clients in the structuring, negotiation, and closing of sophisticated real estate transactions across a range of asset classes and markets.
Matthew has extensive experience advising national and regional lenders in connection with construction loans, term loans, mezzanine financings, and other real estate–backed credit facilities. His practice includes representing lenders in large-scale development and redevelopment projects, including industrial, office, laboratory, multifamily, student housing, senior living, and mixed-use properties. He regularly counsels clients on all phases of real estate financing transactions, from initial structuring through closing and ongoing administration.
Matthew advises developers and investors on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and portfolio transactions. He has significant experience negotiating purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, and ancillary real estate documents, as well as drafting and negotiating commercial, industrial, and ground leases.
