Biography

Marwan represents companies and individuals in complex business and commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, and government and internal investigations. His practice includes disputes in state and federal courts and arbitration, with experience involving breach of contract, business torts, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty disputes, and intellectual property rights.

His commercial litigation work spans the energy and utilities, financial services, insurance, healthcare, and life sciences sectors. His matters include construction and commercial contract disputes, litigation concerning ownership of inventions and trademark rights, and healthcare reimbursement disputes under the No Surprises Act. His experience also includes disputes involving the enforceability of arbitration agreements, commercial arbitration, and litigation under the Alien Tort Statute. He is a member of the Utilities sub-team of the firm’s Energy Industry Team.

Marwan’s work includes case strategy, factual development and discovery, dispositive motions, trial preparation, and appellate briefing. In his white-collar practice, he was a member of the defense team that obtained a post-trial judgment of acquittal for a former pharmacy executive following a seven-week federal jury trial.

Before joining the firm, Marwan served as a Deputy Attorney General for the state of New Jersey, representing the state, its agencies, and employees. He also clerked for the Honorable Carol Sandra Moore Wells, U.S.M.J., and Petrese B. Tucker, U.S.D.J., of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Marwan maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing students seeking special education services and incarcerated individuals asserting violations of their constitutional rights.
