Biography

Lauren focuses her practice on Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), real estate finance and secured transactions. She works with national and international banks, lending institutions and REITS to finance varied commercial assets throughout the United States including shopping centers, hotels, warehouses, office buildings, single-tenant buildings, multi-family housing complexes and self-storage facilities.  She has extensive experience handling organizational structures, leases, franchise agreements, purchase and sale agreements, subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements, estoppels, opinions, condominiums, tenancies-in-common, warehouse facilities, mezzanine loans and other complex loan structures.

Lauren received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2011.  Prior to joining FBT Gibbons, Lauren was a civil litigation and trial attorney in state, federal and bankruptcy courts throughout Kentucky and Indiana.

Legal Work Highlights

Representation of national bank client in defense of action for statutory penalties. The Kentucky Court of Appeals reversed the trial court judgment in favor of Plaintiff and granted judgment for the bank. Lauren also represented the bank in front of the Kentucky Supreme Court, which affirmed the Court of Appeals.

Representation of national bank client in which bank appealed an adverse trial court judgment regarding the sufficiency of lien release triggers. Kentucky Court of Appeals reversed and remanded in favor of bank.

Representation of national financial consulting company in which Plaintiff appealed an adverse trial court judgment regarding borrower lien disclosures. The Kentucky Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court judgment in favor of the financial consulting company.
