Genna represents both corporate and individual clients in a wide range of complex commercial, products liability, and criminal litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout New Jersey and New York. Genna has been involved in all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, briefing and arguing dispositive motions, pre- and post-trial briefing, and trial.
Genna’s commercial practice includes representing individuals and large companies in connection with class action defense, fraud, breach of contract, non-compete, claims under the Federal Claims Act, and actions to obtain discovery in the United States under 28 U.S.C. § 1782 in aid of proceedings abroad.
Genna’s product liability practice includes defending Fortune Global 500 companies against claims for personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, and general products liability.
In her white-collar criminal practice, Genna defends clients against various charges including mortgage fraud, the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), interstate stalking, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and RICO. Most significantly, Genna served as second chair in a four-week jury trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, as well as assisted a client in successfully obtaining a full and unconditional presidential pardon.
In addition, Genna has experience conducting internal investigations into violations of company policies, as well as violations by the Department of Justice, the Department of Environmental Protection, and other Government authorities.
Genna has been recognized on the Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” list in the categories of both Commercial Litigation and Criminal Defense: White-Collar, as well as on the New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in the category of Business Litigation.
Finally, Genna maintains an active pro bono practice. Genna has been recognized by Volunteer Lawyers for Justice as the July 2025 Volunteer of the Month in connection with her involvement in the Veterans Legal Program legal clinics, the ReLeSe (Reentry Legal Services) Program clinics, and successfully obtaining expungements for clients in intricate individual cases.
