Alex focuses his practice exclusively on intellectual property (IP), specifically patents and trade secrets. He has experience in all phases of patent litigation and regularly helps clients procure and strategically manage U.S., international, and foreign utility and design patents. He also conducts patentability, freedom-to-operate/clearance, and patent infringement investigations, and counsels clients on trade secret protection and IP-related agreements. Alex has handled matters across a variety of technology areas, including medical devices, temperature-controlled shipping containers, furniture, consumer product manufacturing, automobiles, fluid dispensers, wind turbines, and aircraft systems.
While in engineering school, Alex was a co-op with The Procter & Gamble Company in its Computer Modeling & Simulation, Plant Engineering, and Intellectual Property R&D departments. While in law school, he interned with GE Aviation’s Intellectual Property Legal Department. In fall 2013, Alex was a legal extern for the Honorable Michael R. Barrett of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Prior to joining FBT Gibbons, he was a summer associate and later a patent attorney at an IP boutique law firm in Cincinnati.
