Barry focuses his practice in the area of product liability and tort defense. He represents both small, family-owned businesses and Fortune-level corporations across the United States in complex tort and liability matters. His experience includes the defense of premises liability claims, general negligence actions, and product liability cases involving design defect, manufacturing defect, and failure-to-warn allegations.
Barry is well versed in all phases of litigation, from early case assessment and discovery through dispositive motion practice and trial. He has experience leading the courtroom as first chair in federal jury trials and routinely represents clients in state court litigation, including managing written discovery, depositions, and pretrial strategy. His hands-on approach allows him to tailor defense strategies to the unique risks and goals of each client.
In addition to his current practice, Barry maintains substantial experience representing law enforcement agencies. He is well-versed in defending claims alleging constitutional violations, including Monell liability and excessive force related to police action shootings, arrests, and jail deaths. Barry remains available to represent public safety clients facing high-exposure civil litigation.
Barry’s work ethic and competitive drive are rooted in his background as a collegiate wrestler. He wrestled at the University of Indianapolis, where he served as a team captain, an experience that continues to shape his disciplined, strategic, and resilient approach to advocacy. Outside of the office, Barry enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and their dog, Mackey.
