  • FBT Gibbons Partner Frederick Alworth Named Fellow of American College of Trial Lawyers

Frederick W. Alworth, a partner in FBT Gibbons’ Business & Commercial Litigation practice group, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America. Alworth joins a prestigious group of FBT Gibbons attorneys to have earned this honor.

Founded in 1950, the College is the American College of Trial Lawyers is widely recognized as the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America, composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Fellowship is extended by invitation only, following a rigorous investigation process, to experienced trial lawyers who have demonstrated the highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. Candidates must have at least 15 years of trial experience before consideration for Fellowship.

Alworth’s career has seen him serving as lead trial counsel and counseling clients in some of the most complex transactions intersecting in the private and public sector in in New Jersey, including privatization of the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park Racetracks, risk issues surrounding the 2014 NFL Championship Game at MetLife Stadium, implementation of legalized sports betting, rebuilding of the Goethals and Bayonne Bridges, and injunction challenges to two of the largest infrastructure projects on the East Coast, each involving billions of dollars at stake. He is a former President of the Essex County Bar Association, New Jersey’s oldest and largest Bar Association, and previous Vice-Chair of the New Jersey State Ethics Committee.

With deep experience in expedited litigation, Alworth has spent more than three decades in state and federal courts handling business and commercial litigation, real estate, and financial restructuring matters and has an in-depth understanding of multiple practice areas and the interplay among them. Committed to the public interest and the community, he served as the firm’s pro bono coordinator for over five years. In addition to his day-to-day law practice, Alworth serves as East Coast Section Leader of FBT Gibbons’ Business & Commercial Litigation practice group with responsibility for all firm offices in the Eastern United States.
