Biography

Matthew focuses his practice on business litigation. He has represented clients in a wide variety of litigation matters in both state and federal court, including breach of contract, breach of lease, consumer protection, unfair trade practices, shareholder disputes, and various business torts. He has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants as well as advising clients on pre-litigation dispute resolution. Matthew has also represented clients in various appellate matters and state attorney general investigations. Before joining FBT Gibbons, Matthew practiced business litigation for two years at a local law firm in Louisville.

Originally from Louisville, Matthew graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2022, where he served as Executive Editor of the University of Cincinnati Law Review, worked as a judicial extern for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and became a national finalist at the New York City Bar Association’s 72nd Annual Moot Court Competition. During his time on the Moot Court Honor Board, he greatly expanded the program’s capabilities by engaging numerous Cincinnati attorneys as coaches and mentors. He was later inducted into the Order of Barristers for demonstrating outstanding ability in oral advocacy and brief writing. He remains involved with Cincinnati’s Moot Court program as a coach and mentor and prepares the national team every fall for their most prominent competition of the year.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, watching MLB baseball, listening to music, and playing golf and other pick-up sports with his friends and family members.
