Biography

Courtney represents clients on a variety of issues and provides assistance with legislative advocacy, strategic counseling, professional licensing matters, and more. Her focus areas include legislative and regulatory counseling in Trenton and Washington D.C. as well as commercial litigation in New York and New Jersey. She represents a diverse group of entities ranging from large, multinational corporations to non-profit entities and institutions of higher education.

Courtney is also active in pro bono representation and has volunteered her time as part of the Small Businesses Need Us initiative (in partnership with the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership) to help small businesses in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic; Kids in Need of Defense, which helps unaccompanied minors seeking asylum; and Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, which seeks to assist New Jersey residents experiencing poverty with access to justice.

Since graduation, Courtney has been an active member of the bar. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Lobbying & Government Affairs Section and on the Board of Directors for the Garden State Bar Association. She is also a member of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, New Jersey State Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, National Association of Women Lawyers, and National Bar Association. Additionally, Courtney serves on the Rutgers School of Law Newark Alumni Association Board of Trustees. In June, she began her term as President of the Board.

Courtney has demonstrated her commitment to the legal community and is an active young attorney. She has been selected as a New Jersey State Bar Association Leadership Fellow, Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow, Super Lawyers: Rising Star, Profiles in Diversity Journal Emerging Leader Award recipient, and recognized on the “Powerful Women in New Jersey” and Insider 100: Lobbying Power lists.
